The Green Bishop
We would like to share with you the wonderful news that the Green Bishop has been awarded the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Langton Award for Community Service. The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby will confer this Award to the Right Reverend Geoff Davies at the Lambeth Awards Ceremony on 31st March 2016 in Lambeth Place, London.
Bishop Davies was nominated for this prestigious award by Archbishop-Emeritus Desmond Tutu and supported by Archbishop Thabo Makgoba.
We are pleased to see a lifetime of work in the service of people and planet recognised and honoured in such a way. It is a true blessing to share in a part of the ministry which Bishop Davies brought into being through the founding and pioneering of the Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute.
SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute) is a multi-faith organisation committed to supporting faith leaders and their communities in Southern Africa to increase awareness, understanding and action on eco-justice, sustainable living and climate change.
