After launching our campaign, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has reinstated its global CF commitment on its website and has published an updated glidepath to include 'global' in its goals, which they have done! Norwegian Cruise Line made a global commitment in 2016 and until today was only reporting in the U.S and even removed the global commitment from its website. Not only have they done what we've asked by reinstating their global commitment and published a glidepath, they've actually produced a glidepath more ambitious than Carnival’s for 2023 and more ambitious for both Carnival and Royal Caribbean's for 2024, as they aim to be 75% globally cage-free by then, whereas Carnival and Royal Caribbean aim to be 70%.
For comparison: Royal Caribbean glidepath: > 35% by 2022 > 60% by 2023 > 70% by 2024 > 100% by 2025 Carnival Corporation glidepath: > 20% by 2022 > 40% by 2023 > 70% by 2024 > 100% by 2025 NCLH: > 25% by 2022 in the US > 50% by 2023 > 75% by 2024 > 100% by 2025
Let's double down on pressuring the remaining targets - Millennium Hotels and Langham Hospitality Group - to start reporting as well!
