August is Women’s month and we’re celebrating women who are leading the search for justice in our country.
You are invited to SAFCEI’s first multi-faith women’s assembly on the 24th of August (10am at the Muizenberg Civic Centre) where we will all share and learn as stewards of the environment from their faith perspectives.
Women are primary caregivers in many faith communities and find themselves dealing with the impacts of pollution and climate change, poor sanitation, and lack of participation in decision-making on a daily basis.
So we are asking women from different faith perspectives to gather together to reflect on how we relate to nature and the natural resources on which we depend, and explore strategies as to how as women, we can protect and nurture a living Earth.
SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute) is a multi-faith organisation committed to supporting faith leaders and their communities in Southern Africa to increase awareness, understanding and action on eco-justice, sustainable living and climate change.
