“The President of the Republic of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera set an initiative that every Friday (the second week of each month) we should be having cleaning exercises in our communities. Malawi Creation Care Network, Scotland Partnership & National Youth Conference on Climate Change (NYCC) decided to conduct this event in Area 25, Nsungwi Market in Lilongwe on 13 March 2021. 98% of the participants were youths from different organisations that deal with climate change problems & waste management issues. After the cleaning exercise, we donated some equipment like bins to reduce the accumulation of wastes in the market. Simplex Chingota & Rehema Chikwawa represented FLEAT Malawi on this day”.
