We hosted our second Faith Leader Energy Programme workshop on 28th and 29th November at the Shalimar Gardens Hotel in Cape Town.
The group of faith leaders gathered to report back on the work they have done in their communities since engaging in issues around environmental justice, eco-justice, climate change, energy and policy-making at the first workshop in July. Activities taken forth include educational outreach, research, surveys and public participation in Parliament.
Participants engaged in discussions on how faith communities can use the media to promote energy messages, the Energy Justice Landscape in South Africa, renewable energy alternatives and how renewable energy affects people of faith.
SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute) is a multi-faith organisation committed to supporting faith leaders and their communities in Southern Africa to increase awareness, understanding and action on eco-justice, sustainable living and climate change.
