SAFCEI, with the assistance of Open Wing Alliance (OWA) is working tirelessly towards a world where cage free eggs are a norm, which can put an end to cruel battery cages for egg laying hens.
Three Cape Town restaurants; The Commons Muizenberg, Blue Cafe and The Avenue have made cage free commitments to source 100% cage free liquid, shell, and ingredient eggs for use in their restaurants immediately.
These developments follow weeks of engagement and follow ups through emails, calls, and meetings with the restaurants’ management.
