SAFCEI joined the very successful #CapeClimateMarch yesterday, which took place in the city centre of Cape Town. Together with our faith leader puppets we marched in the heat - which was quite apt, considering why we were marching - to parliament where a petition was handed over symbolically to Helen Zille, Patricia de Lille and Tina Joematt-Pettersson stand-ins. Lance Greyling from the Mayors office was there in person and addressed a few words to the 1500 strong crowd.
There were also plenty of performers and speakers who fired up and inspired the marchers before and after. Bishop Geoff Davies, Ani Tsondru Sonam and Dr Ridwaan Gallant spoke from SAFCEI's side and their prayers brought the voice of faith into the proceedings.
Durban also marched on Sunday, joining Cape Town and the world; marching for the Earth, our sacred home and for everyone who could not march.
