SAFCEI invites you to apply for the first workshop of our third cohort of the Regional Women’s Faith Leader Advocacy Training (FLEAT III). The workshop will take place in Johannesburg, from 28 to 30 October 2025. We are currently accepting applications.

Applications are open to faith leaders and Green Champions from Southern Africa, who have not previously attended SAFCEI workshops and training sessions, and who are actively working in their communities on eco and climate justice issues.

SAFCEI is seeking a diverse group of women faith leaders, and a good representation of youth to apply.

What to expect in the workshop:

  • Engage with women faith leaders from Southern & East Africa.
  • Explore climate justice issues on food, energy, and climate.
  • Contribute to the My Food is African campaign & the Just Energy Transition, including nuclear discourse.
  • Learn about sustainable consumption & alternative energy, with a focus on solar in congregations.
  • Build advocacy skills to address food, energy, and climate justice nationally & regionally.
  • Develop a six-month local action plan with in-country partnerships, to be reported at future sessions.

Selected participants must be able to attend the entire three-day workshop.

SAFCEI will provide accommodation, meals, and transport to selected participants.

Those attending the workshop will be expected to arrive no later than 8:00 am for registration each day and depart at 3:30 pm. Venue details will be confirmed.
