SAFCEI invites you to apply for our third cohort of the Regional Women’s Faith Leader Advocacy Training (FLEAT III). The workshop will take place in Johannesburg from 28 to 30 October 2025. This training offers women faith leaders and green champions from Southern Africa a powerful space to deepen their advocacy on food, energy, and climate justice.

Applications are open to women faith leaders who have not previously attended SAFCEI's regional women's FLEAT workshops but have been previously trained in-country and are actively working in their communities on food, energy, and climate issues.

What to expect at the workshop:

  • Be inspired to challenge policy frameworks and take active leadership roles in eco-justice movements.
  • Deepen your understanding of climate change through a gendered lens.
  • Explore strategies that strengthen the role of women faith leaders and civil society actors in multilateral forums.
  • Explore climate justice issues related to food, energy, and climate dynamics in Africa, and be encouraged to contribute to the Faiths for Sustainable Farming campaign and challenge false solutions to the Just Energy Transition, including nuclear discourse, from an informed position.
  • Gain knowledge on sustainable consumption and alternative energy, and be encouraged to introduce solar initiatives within your respective congregations.
  • Learn and share advocacy skills and strategies to respond to food, energy, and climate justice issues in your countries and the region.
  • Develop a six-month local action plan that promotes collaboration and in-country partnerships, which will be reported on.

SAFCEI will provide accommodation, meals, and transport to selected participants.

Please complete the application form https://forms.gle/RuyRhfGm61UfL6wz8 and include your passport, CV, letter of motivation and a letter of recommendation from your faith community or leadership. Applications close on 01 October 2025.
