It's a beautiful day today, switching on new energies for divestment. The South Africa Energy Week is coming up next week and we are ready to continue with our push for 100% renewables to the South African energy grid and in particular, asking The Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) to commit to not funding the Thabametsi coal-fired power plant.
We would like to inform and invite you for a protest action on Tuesday outside the Cape Town International Convention Centre, from 08:00 hrs -10:00 hrs. You can meet us on the corner of Lower Long street and Walter Sisulu Avenue from 07:30 onwards. We request that you come dressed in black T-shirts or organisational t-shirts.
We will also be hosting a banner painting session on Monday afternoon, from 16:00 hrs - 19:00 hrs - at the Alternative Information and Development Centre (AIDC) - 129 Rochester Road Observatory. Light refreshments will be served.
Please could you confirm your attendance for both events with us by replying to this email as soon as possible!
We hope that you can join us in calling on the DBSA to break free from financing Thabametsi.
Thank you for your support so far,
Kruss Mabonga
